Two for Tuesday - Book Study and Podcast Interview

Published 16 days ago • 1 min read

Hi Reader,

I have two items of interest.

First, a six-week study of Jenny Brown's Growing Yourself Up: How to Bring Your Best to All of Life’s Relationships begins on Tuesday, May 14 in The Non-Anxious Leader Network (TNAL). Access to the network and the study are both FREE.

I was interviewed recently by Chris Barras and his son, Declan, for their Minding the Gap podcast. They focus on closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be. I met Chris in the Friedman's Failure of Nerve book study in TNAL. It turns out that we talked for so long that they'll end up getting three episodes out of our time together.

I'm grateful for all the ways that we are connecting non-anxious leaders together.

Recommendations

This week's recommendations continue the theme of family systems theory and non-anxious leadership.

Families, Positions, and What It Takes to Play Ball by Kathleen Smith. Differentiated people and relationship systems are more flexible. This article shows why that's important and offers a long list of ways you can experiment with your own functioning.

When to Accept Differences in Views and When to Stand Your Ground from Admired Leadership. Non-anxious leaders are flexible in some situations but stand their ground in others. This article highlights the difference. Definitely worth your time.

Podcast

Episode 275 of The Non-Anxious Leader Podcast, A Family Systems Take on Daniel Goleman's 6 Leadership Styles, is now available.

That's it for this week. Thanks for reading.

Peace,

Jack
